I love Sessions too, but agree we need him in the Senate.
The next VP needs to be young enough to be POTUS after President Trump’s term is over.

“Trump is conservative enough; he needs a moderate like Christie for balance.”

No he doesn’t. Trump is not very conservative at all, for anyone who’s actually paying attention. Certainly not on social issues.

Christie is a loudmouthed boor with zero appeal. Trump can, and should, do far better. Ernst is actually a great idea IMO.

I will also get behind whomever Trump picks.

One name that I’ve not seen but I’ve posted a few times for consideration is Representative Jim Jordan(R-OH). He’s on the Benghazi committee, IIRC head of at least one other committee, conservative, fairly young, articulate, nice looking, and, as best I recall was considered by some to replace Boehner as Speaker (he sure would have been much better than Ryan, who has been terribly disappointing). Might also help bring in Ohio.

Just my $.02 FWIW

Why would you not get behind a full term governor as Trump’s running mate? What is the significance of someone being a full term governor?

Love Judge Jeanine. Would like to see her or Jay Seukulaw (sp) as WH Counsel or Deputy AG with Christie as AG.

What a shame. Unless, as I have thought, he’s just keeping an eye on the whole bunch of them. Is Cotton a mormon?

Ah. I just read that Bill Kristol contributed a boat-load of money to support Cotton because of his hawkish stance on Iran. That explains things. Bill Kristol has made a fool of himself.

Full-term Governors are compromised by definition. Since they have already sold us out, they would certainly do it again. It gets easier every time.

Lol - thanks, Homer!

I don’t think women should be doing men’s work. Steel workers, firemen, even police. It’s too dangerous. I’m so old-fashioned I think women should be protected and cherished!

Sessions is a rock solid conservative with a stellar reputation and is highly respected. No, he won’t light up the place but we have Trump for that. Sessions has never endorsed a presidential primary candidate in his 30 years in the Senate-until now.

Christie has it on record that GUN CONTROL is the sole reason he got into politics. He has governed one of the most antigun states in the nation. Show me where he's attempted to roll back ANY of the draconian laws of his state? He has paid the 2nd Amendment lip service recently by pardoning a few innocent folks that got trapped and crushed by his states antigun machine. But it's all for show, while he was a candidate. This is a pick that Trump MUST pass on if he wants to win.

I'd much rather have Ernst or better yet Gingrich.

Did any of you bother to listen to the Tom Cotton “Meet the Press” clip that was mentioned in the piece The one that Trump is quoted about?

He really got ole Chuck Todd worked into a lather because Todd couldn’t get Cotton to say what he wanted him too - nor could he trip him up.

Cotton is personable, straight-forward and seems solid - might be a good pick.

Here. I’ll make it easy for you.

Tom Cotton was the only member of the whole Senate that voted against the Corker Amendment.

Cruz voted FOR the Corker Amendment.

Cruz voted FOR Iran self-attesting to being clean, in order to get $150 billion from the US Government.

Cruz is an @ss, along with all the other Senators.

"The balance rule does not apply here. Trump needs someone who knows the mechanics, and not somene who is left of center who can belie Trump’s appealto conservatives and anti-establishment types. He also needs someone who is not as old ( sorry Newt) but can be president if needed. both Ernest and Pence are sound choices. So is Sessions."

Anti Establishment Type who can get things done in the Senate? Paging Rand Paul, go here for details: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3445288/posts

My other pic would be Senator Burr from North Carolina. We could use an electoral win from that State....

"Newt is also part of the free trade godfathers. He and Clinton teamed up to push NAFTA. Now he is against free trade. Not only that, but Newt has various business dealings with the PRC."

And I wonder if Newt regrets it. I think the whole deal was a sham. In that I mean they were looking for a way to make consumer inflation look good and have people buy more "stuff" and at the same time that took the pressure off the fiscal side of reducing the size and scope of Fedzilla. I'd rather buy less "stuff" that is made here and I want a tiny Fedzilla, not the Godzilla we have now, interesting first 3 letters so apropos of how they want to Lord over us now isn't it...
