What hope did the signers of the Declaration of Indepedence have of success?

Not only will the rebellion fail but all the signers will be hanged. All the loyal governors of the colonies are against this uprising along with the house of governess. The King's loyalist will impose his highness' will. The press will support it as well. Loyal subjects of the crown will come to the aid of King George. After all, their livelihoods are at stake. All the institutions of trade depend upon the support and protection of mother county. Even within the colonist rebellion is division. They are too loosely bound, all seeking their own interests. There is too much diversity in the culture of each colony for the rebellion to succeed. No, loyal subjects, this Declaration of Independence is a vaporous and fleeting mistake in wishful thinking. There is no hope of it ever amounting to more than a quick spanking by the greatest military force in history and the ultimate ruin for those who foolishly follow such a cause.
