Kodak had inferior product to Fuji and even Agfa was as good but the genius Kodak hired had a plan... keep raising prices because high prices will make people think our film is better!!! This was at the dawn of the digital age and just after Kodak got sued half to death for infringing on Polaroids patents with their instant cameras..

Partly right. Kodak senior management met once a quarter to discuss how to deal with the Fuji Film problem.
They never could come up with anything new, creative or novel to fight Fuji, so they just resorted to increasing the prices to make up for the loss in sales volume.
