Clinton and Lynch are lawyers. They would not risk appearing to interfere with the investigation - if there was not to be an indictment they would completely undermine that finding by having the meeting.

Why did Lynch meet with him? She could have turned him away immediately without a word and her integrity would be intact.

It must have been SO important that it was worth the damage to her reputation and the taint on her decision making. What could have been that important?
