Read an interesting book called “ Longitude “. There was an English clock maker who finally made a clock accurate enough to locate your exact longitude. He also crafted gears for a sodden clock in a tower in the 1600’s that still works and the gears were made of wood. All the gears were hand cut. The book a great read!

How accurate it was would be interesting to know, I haven’t heard about that.

However, accurate or not, it is an oopart for its time for sure.
