International mediators trying to promote Mideast peace warned in a highly anticipated report Friday that Israels settlement expansion is eroding the viability of a Palestinian state and raises legitimate questions about its commitment to a two-state solution.
The Quartet of Mideast negotiators the U.N., U.S., European Union and Russia also criticized the glorification of Palestinians who commit terrorist attacks against Israel and called on the Palestinian Authority to act decisively to stop incitement to violence and clearly condemn all acts of terrorism.
While the Israeli and Palestinian leaders and the majority of people on both sides support a negotiated two-state solution, the mediators expressed serious concern that continuing on the current course will make this prospect increasingly remote.
The Quartet called for immediate steps to reverse three trends that it says are severely undermining hopes for peace Israeli settlement construction and expansion; the Palestinians lack of unity and the illicit arms build-up and militant activity in Gaza; and continuing violence, terrorist attacks against civilians and incitement to violence.

Muzzies livin’ near Israel have Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. What more do they want?
We already have a two-state solution, its called Israel and Jordan.
What they want is to shoe-horn a third or fourth state into the same tiny patch of land.
There will never be an independent arab west bank. It will never happen. It has no industry, no economy that doesn’t involve mayhem, they create nothing, and they have no window to the world that doesn’t go through Israel or Jordan. And all this on a piece of land smaller than the average county.
And frankly they don’t want to build a county-sized country anyway. They have no interest in settling down to worry about storm sewers and potable water, or curb and gutter paving. Their source of power, what importance they have, is based on violence; the threat of violence, the promise to refrain from violence, followed by the return to violence followed by the promise to leave it behind. If they ever did give up violence for real, all the Saudi money dries up, all the UN money dries up, all the US money dries up, and no one answer their call and stories about them don’t make it past page seventeen in the daily paper. If there are any.
They will never give up violence, and they will never be independent. Take that to the bank.
Two states is an idiotic idea and should never happen. They are proposing making the west bank into the nation state “Palestine’. This will put a hostile moslem army in a position that it could mass for a 12 mile thrust to slice Israel in half. It would put almost all of the populated areas of Israel within artillery range.
The only answer is that the west bank remains Israeli “occupied territory’ but that it never gains independence, nor becomes part of Israel proper. You cant give the Koraninals the vote in Israeli national elections until you see a generation or two of absolute peace from them. And even then its dicey.
That’s just how it is.
The “Palestinians” aren’t Jordanians, though; PLO bigwig Zuheir Mohsen admitted that back in 1977. They do, however, want to conquer the former Transjordan after conquering all of Israel.
The idea of planting a terrorist “ state” in Israel is unacceptable. Anyone who wants to give the so- called “Palestinians” ( sic) more land can Damn well cede their own for the “cause.” Besides, they already occupy over 70 percent of “mandatory Palestine” and the Moslems control ( have taken over) millions more square miles of the earth - 56 countries in actual act
The Nazi types never quit trying to kill off the rest of the joos — even with patently obvious proposals like this, ha! Now that enough Jews have “stubbornly” decided to stay alive, the Nazis are stymied -——and haven’t Ben able to come up with anything brighter than this phony old “two state solution’” carnard — ha! What a farce!
The Palestinians do not want a two state solution. It is Palestine only, and death to all Jews.
35 20 or Jihad....
:)
Or maybe, y'know, the Quartet could mind its own business and stop financing terrorism directed against Israel, and even better, stop pretending they're interested in peace in the Middle East or anywhere else. Thanks Olog-hai.
After seven decades of anti-Israelism, it sure would take a miracle for them to do an about-face.
They never, ever wanted a “two-state solution”. Like Zuheir Mohsen said, the very notion of a so-called “Palestinian” state was “only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity”, IOW a restoration of a pan-Arab Caliphate that included every square inch of Israel in its territory.
