Trump's VP finalists include Christie, Gingrich

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are among the finalists to be Donald Trump's running mate, sources confirmed to CNN on Thursday...

The New York Times was first to report Christie's vetting. The Washington Post reported Thursday evening that Gingrich was also being vetted, with Sens. Jeff Sessions, R-Alabama, and Bob Corker, R-Tennessee, also emerging as final contenders, but a source very close to the campaign said the Post's report was inaccurate. The source added, however, that a surprise choice could also be in store.

Careful...someone else posted this from WaPo, from whence it originally came from and the thread was pulled.

This is just lefty psyops; hopefully. None mentioned would help Trump do anything but lose.

I don’t believe it. Trump wouldn’t pick a fat has-been.

Just really hope it will be Newt. If his family is saying it won't be who the Washington Post said, which is Newt and Christie, then that is disappointing. Will still support Trump. Just hope it will be Newt.

Newt is a patriot just like Trump. Oh well, will still support Trump if it isn't Newt. Just hope it will be Newt. Nothing against the other people in the running for VP, just think Newt would be the best choice. :/

This is against the FEC rules and regulations...Trump cannot announce his V.P until the convention...

I know there was a lot of talk about this being done, but with the FEC on top of a few of the candidates already, Trump is not taking a chance...

Who Trump picks is not for public knowledge until he announces it...

Tennesseans: we need to tell Donald about Corker. Warn Donald about Corker. Maybe it’s just a name in the mix but not seriously considered. Surely they know he’s 110% Establishment RINO.

CNN isn't using the Post as their source and here's a non-pulled Washington Post article still at F.R.: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3445284/posts.

Christie would be a great Attorney General—he would get to the bottom of the Clinton scandals. Newt would be a good White House chief of staff, Sessions would be a good VP—of the lot. Palin should be Sec. of Energy.

While Trump can’t announce yet, he obviously can meet with the people he is interested in and coordinate the timing of the announcement.

Previous candidates weren’t held to such a high standard that left everyone guessing until convention night.

Christie would do absolutely nothing to help the ticket. He’s from the Northeast - same region as Trump - and he’s rightly despised by the GOP base throughout most of the country. His presence on the ticket would suppress conservative turnout.
