I have been bantering this concept about here on FR, it deserves it own thread, Here is the case for Rand Paul as VP...
* Trump needs to get things through the House and Senate.
* With Newt as Chief of Staff, he can work Bills through the House with him, Newt knows were all the bodies are burried.
* And with Paul as Presiding over the Senate he has got a contact with the Senate to maneuver through that mind field.
* More So...
* IMHO Mitch McConnell owes Rand.....
* Say what you will about Matt Bevin as a Senate Candidate, he is the Gov. now, and is not to be taken lightly IMHO. Without Rand endorsing McConnell it might have been Senator Bevin.
* As a Fellow Freeper noted they have seen Sanders and Paul bumper stickers on cars in College / Liberal areas.
* FWIW, the Bernsters are not going to pull the lever for Kim Jong Shrill.
* As someone who is around kids I have noted the Millennial interest in Rand and I think he could swing a number of disaffected Bernie Voters to Trump, they like him he has got that Uncandidate Hipster thing going on and they dig it.
Three other things....
* Rand bowed out early with grace. and gave an unequivocal 100% Endorsement of Donald Trump
* Rand is also deemed as an outsider, he is an "insurance policy" that the ticket will not cave to the establishment
* And he was the only one to talk about cutting government and the debt, something that Trump around the edges has noted.
The locking up of the Millennial voters is key for the big Win that Trump is looking for. IMHO he doesn't just want to be victorious over Hillary he wants an Epic Victory. Snagging the majority of the Sanders Supporters by having Rand on the ticket would do just that.
Looking forward to your replies as always, Taildragger..
A requirement for any VP suggestion.

I doubt it will be either of them.
We will know in less than three weeks. I trust the instincts and smarts of Trump to pick the one who will be best.
Who put lipstick on that ...
... dictator?
+1
Oh, I don’t think so.
I agree with that pictorial.
I think Rand Paul is a long shot, but an excellent choice. I think one of the few blocks of votes that could actually be in play this time are the libertarians who at this point are left with Gary Johnson. The bernie fans will cuss and fuss, but will vote for Kim Jong Shrill regardless.
Rand is fine, ok, not VP material, but that had nothing to do with it.
Rather, it had everything to do with one singular subsequent event, the imprisonment of a woman for her Christian conscience.
Rand is the best life insurance Trump could have.
I’d be very happy with Rand Paul.
“Were aleays talking about character on this board.
That goes out the window if hes selected.”
In fairness, we’ve already agreed to look the other way this time on the whole character thing.
But no, I don’t want Paul either. I just think there are policy arguments against him. His hypocrisy on federal funding for doctors is disqualifying.

Newt has the experience and is not afraid of the attack dogs. Newt knows how to get it done with congress too.
The Bernie supporters will vote 95% Hillary.
Interesting thanks. Many here on FR like yourself are great at pointing out the pros & cons of all candidates. Thanks for the input.
That is the million dollar question now isn't it. They say they can't stand her, The Liberal Blogs were on fire yesterday after the Comey decision, and this would enamor them how to pull the lever for her? I see them looking for a different "home" if you will, Trump might be it with Rand aboard, just my 2 cents...
History has moved so fast in the last 2 years with rapid "transformation" I had forgotten about this. Thanks for the reminder...
