Only somebody not grounded in reality would think Cruz should enthusiastically endorse somebody who lied and slandered him repeatedly for a year. Those kinds of things are hard to forgive or justify.

Because, of course, those were the terms of the pledge he signed: “I’ll support the nominee if he treated me nice, but I’ll work to undermine him If he was mean.”

Ted Cruz threw out the first lie and insulted a whole state’s values. Slander is a legal term, and Harvard Law schooled, junior, sometimes present senator, ought to sue to get his good name back.

I agree that it will be hard to do but politics is a nasty game. He should endorse him once he gets the nomination for the sake of the party.

Incidentally, Cruz’ NH libel of Trump was far, far worse than anything Trump said about Cruz.
