Brat is awesome. I'm sure his people worked very hard to get him elected. However, the anti-establishment, anti-leadership, anti-incumbent, anti-Boehner, anti-Cantor environment that he was elected in did not just happen in a vacuum. Cruz and others were taking arrows for 2 years, actively fighting their own leadership, getting murdered in the press, being villainized by their own party. To simply dismiss it, is an abomination on your part.

Lovely language. That is Cruz-supporter class, in a nutshell.
Whatever Cruz did failed miserably. Both Boehner and McCarthy counted the House votes, and had enough to assure passage of Amnesty. It was a done deal. Then the political world shook under the Brat seismic shift. Immediately, as in IMMEDIATELY, House members began contacting Boehner and telling him their Yes vote was now a No. Boehner tabled the Bill, and never brought it up again.
This need you have to embellish Cruz, and credit him with others’ accomplishments, is not healthy. Cruz stated that mass legalization should occur after the border was ‘secure.’ That is the reason he was the only senator to greet the foreign invaders with teddy bears and soccer balls: he wanted them all “legalized.”
