You’re wrong about Gov Paul LePage. He was a Christie supporter. When Christie endorsed Trump he also endorsed him. Heven despises Cruz and raised hell when Cruz won the caucus. He said Cruz used lowlife tactics and Trump should have won. I agree.
When Gov. LePage was running for re-election in 2014, Christie made a number of trips to Maine to help LePage. As you said, LePage was a big Christie supporter, early on during the primaries.
LePage criticized Cruz during the Republican convention in Bangor a few months ago (at the same location where Trump spoke this afternoon). The Cruz people agreed to a deal about the allocation of delegates, and then the Cruz people went back on their word. This set off the governor, and he is not a man who minces words.
By the way, there were many problems with both the democrat AND republican caucus last March. Very unorganized, endless screw ups, etc. Within weeks, both democrats and republicans passed a bill going back to the primary system, and the governor signed it.
Starting in 2020, Maine will have a primary once again.
