"If the restaurants are doing something unlawful, then they need to be notified that it's unlawful," [former ABLE attorney] Maisch said. "There are dozens of restaurants throughout the state of Oklahoma that are infusing drinks, so if it's illegal[,] then someone has neglected to tell them."So ignorance of the Law IS an excuse?! And "but everyone does it," too?! Brilliant legal defence! How about "I vass only following ordahs," too?

OK so this is why the FDA needs SWAT teams.

There might be some food-handling issues, especially if they’re putting bacon/pork in the mix.

So ignorance of the Law IS an excuse? That and rock hard arrogance works for those in government quite well. They just do what they please. Like Hillary.

Oh for Pete’s sake! Did anyone get hurt from this infused alcohol? When the police become teetotalers, govt agencies become enforcers of theories, and the military goes pansy, we are really lost.

As messed up as many California laws are this
seems like something that would be handled by the ABC
(Alcoholic Beverage Control) with a fine or possibly
a license suspension for multiple infractions.....but
maybe not.

Or rubbing alcohol
A TGI Fridays in East Windsor New Jersey got caught doing that. They got away with just paying a fine to the state.

If there was no bacon involved nothing would be said. Can’t worry about a terrorist like Mohammed Atta having bacon while going out for one last night on the town before he dies in a terrorist act.

Have you tired infused watermelon with vodka. Sous Vide does this and it is tasty. Take a 2 inch lone slab of watermelon. Put it in a vacuum seal-able pouch add a shot of vodka . Vacuum seal the bag and chill it in the frig for a couple of hr. So what is wrong with making a drink with bacon that has been vacuum infused with vodka. If it is a drinking glass what is illegal about that. Read recipe books for sous vide cooking and you will find many fruits that have been infused with liquor. O call the cooking police someone cooked some meat with wine. LOL

In 80-100+proof vodka? If there’s anything that can survive in that for long we need to start looking for a crashed alien craft...

I guess our Apple Pie Moonshine that folks bring and drink to parties here in Virginia might have a problem in OK.

Thanks for some common sense in a thread dominated by law and order types. No victim no crime should be the guide. Others explain on here the intent of the law is to prevent fraud - cheap liquor in expensive bottles- but that isn’t what was alleged. Seems like the only victim was the law.
