We have been going out of our way to make sure that no product with non-nutritive sweeteners are allowed into this house. Some companies are now sneaking it into non-diet products and those are no longer purchased here either. Ive gotten to the point that I read every label on any processed food. I dont care how small the amount supposedly is, if I find it then its banned.
Dogs are deathly allergic to some of the artificial sweeteners that some peanut butter companies are now using. Please check the ingredients before giving any to your dog!!!
If you've become highly 'allergic' to them, like I am, stay away from anything ending in "-tol" - sorbitol/malitol, etc. too.
I used to drink diet Coke all the time in college (80's) then became highly allergic to it all of a sudden, can't even touch a smidgen of it or I'm in trouble. Going to restaurants 'can' be exciting....in a bad way.

My wife read an article recently about ground beef and how many parts per million of rat hairs and insect parts the gov says is allowable. She swore off hamburgers at fast food joints and at home.
Regrettably, I informed her that it was not just ground beef but almost all processed food. Her almost only option is to quit eating.
Then I told her she should read Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle” to see how it used to be and then she might not mind a few rat hairs, here and there.
