Pertussis vaccine is a vaccine against the toxins the bacteria produce. They don't kill the bacteria. By having antibodies to the toxins your body is able to destroy the toxins before they help the bacteria get a full blown infection going. So the bacteria are around just can't get a colony going in enough numbers to let you infect somebody.

Now how would THAT make any difference? Throughout this thread I have been lectured that people who aren’t vaccinated do not carry or spread disease. All the unvaccinated immigrants shouldn’t make a bit of difference.
The truth is that anti-vaxxers are welfare free riders. Enjoying disease eradication provided by everyone else.
And they magically believe that immigrants carry disease from parts of the world where the diseases still rage. And they never stop to ask why the disease never went away in those countries, and why the unvaccinated immigrants carry it.
There’s a lot of disconnect there.
