It’s always been who you know and many times what you “can do” for the decision maker in the “may issue” jurisdictions.

You can bet that Bloomberg’s private militia and the other militias got theirs quickly without checks after paying out. You’ll find the same with Chicago and all the other “tough gun laws” localities.

The “national debate” consisted mostly of gun-grabbers talking to each other in the MSM.

Crooked is, as crooked does. So why does any state need MORE gun control?? Obviously the CRIMINALS do not obey laws...so only the law-abiding suffer.

There’s a long history of that sort of stuff in Illinois.....except it’s usually only for driver’s licenses.

Isn’t that how it works in banana republics?
A little juice to the man in charge and you get the permit(s).

The fact that many permits were issued which “should not” have been issued. puts the lie to the argument that permits should be highly restricted for public safety.

In all the time that these “phony permits” were around and being used, there has not been even one case of misuse.

Tell me again why an enumerated right must be restricted when we have done the experiment and discovered that there is no harm at all from a much lesser restriction.

Give it to the AP to spin a story of citizens having to bribe police to exercise their constitutional rights as one of citizens corrupting police who are protecting those citizens from themselves.

Positively Orwellian. In no other U.S. city is it so difficult to obtain a permit merely to own a handgun. In most, no permit is required. NYC is directly violating the Second Amendment every day.

37,000 permits in a city of 8.4 million. About 6,000 carry permits, most of those to retired police. It is an utter, complete disgrace, a blot on the nation.
