On Thursday mornings CNN Newsroom, host Carol Costello brought on Erich Pratt, executive director for Gun Owners of America to argue with him about guns as the root cause of violence in the U.S. Unfortunately for Costello, her guest had facts ready to combat the journalists agenda and ably argued his point to where Costello had nothing left to defend her case.

Pratt then pointed out that other countries have far stricter gun laws but have much higher rates of murder, like in Japan where suicide rates are astronomical. Actually, our murder rate is not even in the top 100 of countries around the world. And the top 100 countries, guess what, they have much stricter gun control than we do, he responded.
The pair ended in disagreement over the facts, as Costello promised to check his stats and get back to him.

Scotland is now requireing a “may issue” license for airguns, because 10 years ago, a drug addict murdered a 2-year-old with one. All of UK has about 1 air-gun fatal accident every three years.
They have about 1 child accidentally drown in a 5 gallon bucket every year.
Airguns will be sold over the counter in England, with no border controls in between.
Facts do not matter to the disarmists. They collected 12,000 of those airguns, worth about a million dollars. They will destroy them all, as a sacrifice to the gods of political correctness, I guess.

Crazy in the head, crazy in bed.
(I can vouch tor that.)
Bingo!
Thanks!
As Pratt says, there’s really not a lot of murder in the U.S. Considering.
I’ll take SOCIALIST governments for $500, Alex.
Is Carol still wearing those “birth control glasses”? Take those off and I’d hit other than that she might be attractive to some pajama boys.
Great question and a surprisingly difficult answer.
The concept is called ‘Democide’ or Death By Government and has been studied pretty exhaustively by R.J Rummel.

The sad facts are that there is a category of DEKA-murders by government. Here is a slice from the page referenced above;
‘Three regimes have even murdered more than 20,000,000, itself more than the combat dead of World War II. No one can absorb these numbers; they are intellectually and morally indigestible.
Beyond belief. By far, the media and literature on genocide and mass murder have devoted most attention to the Holocaust.
But even those publicizing this particular evil seem unaware of the total murdered by Hitler and his henchmen-about 21,000,000. Moreover, aside from the Holocaust, there seems to be little general knowledge that there were even greater megamurderers.’
Who knew?
Any intelligent, superficial reading of this mans work will convince you that an armed populace is one that will likely stay alive longer.
Ignorance means you don’t know something. Everyone falls into that category now and then.
Stupidity is refusing to learn. Liberals seem to fall into that category more than most.
Evil is preying on the stupid people to achieve totalitarian ends of democide. Government seems to be in this category more and more these days.
Stand on your back legs. Nullify without anger. Do not be complicit with those who wish to kill you.

7. Guns are used for self-defense often and effectively. Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008, says the report. The three million figure is probably high, based on an extrapolation from a small number of responses taken from more than 19 national surveys. But a much lower estimate of 108,000 also seems fishy, because respondents were not asked specifically about defensive gun use. Furthermore, Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns (i.e., incidents in which a gun was ‘used’ by the crime victim in the sense of attacking or threatening an offender) have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies.
