Feh. The Brits decided to embrace the future rather than continue to tie themselves to the dying corspe of continental Europe. And it is dying. Both demographically and economically. Britain can now tie its cart to rising stars instead. Like the US.
Short term pain for long term gain.
Europe is a beautiful place. We came from Europe and owe much of our heritage to Europe. It isn't the Europeans that are the problem here, or the individual countries in Europe. It is that they sacrificed their individual liberties, lives and fortunes to the Euro-globalist bureaucracy.
The idea of "free trade" and free passage of Europeans was fine. It was when they expanded into worrying about "human rights" global human rights and other leftist causes as well as the plethora of CE regulations that the true evils began. This is what happens when you surrender your sovereignty to folks you can't hold accountable, like for instance the local government of the district of columbia.
