Totally agree with you.
Every couple of years, I visit Cork in Ireland for instance, as part of my family is Irish descent and have relatives there. Always stop over in London for a few days to get over jet lag and have seen and sensed how London has changed over the decades, as has Ireland in fact. None of it though is due to EU; it is due to individual countries and respective governments, regardless of political party. Moving forward, who knows how it’ll develop.
The changes are due to low birthrates (and in the case of Ireland, people leaving for opportunity elsewhere); the issue (that we share) is the trafficking of foreigners to bolster the population - regardless of whether or not the newcomers contribute anything. Many Americans are finally accepting the fact that Mexicans aren’t going to save Social Security; they never had an interest in working to fund the retirements of old Yanquis.
