The “Amish” meme mocks political correctness in the media, refusing to identify backgrounds for politically protected groups, no reason it has to be specific to religion.
I am aware and already explained my position.
After 9/11 it became standard joke to speak of “Amish” regarding genuine terrorist acts.
It made sense because they are of a religious group, not race.
Then it was co-opted to speak of blacks, but it’s not as funny because they do not match exactly, never mind irritating that it went away from the original point.
