Arizona asserted that, and lost. SCOTUS says immigration is solely the responsibility of the federal government.

SCOTUS is not the last word, the Constitution is.

SCOTUS is not the supreme law of the land.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; US Constitution, Art VI, Cl 2.

Any national law contrary to the Constitution or SCOTUS decision not reasonably based on the Constitution is invalid.
