Family members set to inherit a stockpile of guns and ammunition, worth millions of dollars, plan to destroy the weapons "to send a message," their attorney Daniel Brookman told ABC News today.
"They want these instruments of death to be destroyed," Brookman said. "They dont want these weapons out on the street."
Jeffrey A. Lash, of Pacific Palisades, California, died last summer of natural causes, but left behind a stockpile of more than 1,500 guns, 6.5 tons of ammunition and nearly $250,000 in cash, according to local ABC-owned station KABC-TV. All of the purchases were legally made, KABC reported.

Lash should have willed the guns and ammo to the NRA instead. His inheritors are a gaggle of idiots.
Excellent point. I would love to see the look on their faces when they destroy the guns then get a $400,000 bill from the IRS.
Serve them right to have to mortgage the house to fund their anti-gun bigotry.
A gaggle of libs/idiots/dems/morons... but I repeat myself.
Wonder how many will be “rescued” by the cops?
Oh...and “training ammo”......that’s “destruction”.
Actually I don’t know how you could prevent the legal owner destroying any artwork.
It is stupid beyond belief but these idiots can destroy all the firearms—and be taxed on the market value I hope.
The deceased wasn’t exactly a genius ,just a wealthy paranoid eccentric with a fiancee that left his dead body in a parked car??!! plus didn’t call for EMTs???? never mind he said no,you get help anyway if you truly care.
“...a government full of idiots...”
We have that in spades.
LOL.
As Axenolith points out, the federal estate tax exemption is up to $5.45 million in 2016. But, Lash died last year, and it was $5.43 million in 2015.
According to one of the articles, he was engaged for 17 years -- if he had actually been married, he and his wife would have had a combined federal estate tax exemption that was exactly double the individual amount.
I don't know what tax California might assess on the estate -- someone else will have to provide that info.
The value of the firearms and ammo would have to be established. Lash's girlfriend has an attorney, and he has estimated the value of the firearms to be as high as $5 million. Other estimates are much lower.
But, it looks like there will be some claims that must be paid by the estate first. Lash was living with his girlfriend, and reportedly did a lot of damage to her condo. It will cost up to $300,000 to repair it.
He did have other assets: about a dozen vehicles, some of which were highly customized. But, any remainder of the estate will be highly diluted, as he has no will and a lot of family members are laying a claim.
One thing worth noting: no one seems to know where he got all his money. There's no evidence of illegal activity. But, he was in a "relationship" with multiple women, and at least one of them was supporting him. It may have been just a series of con jobs.
It’s simple, actually. Judeo-Christian values are always to blame when someone who doesn’t follow Judeo-Christian morality does something awful.
If I thought my heirs were going to be such libtardian douchebags I’d cache my stuff all over and leave it as a patriot scavenger/treasure hunt!
I specifically remember that verse. Yep. EVERYTHING a man can do and/or think about is referenced in some way in the Bible.
Excellent post about what happens on a regular basis everywhere now.
They are sending a message that tells every criminal that they are unarmed sheep who are waiting to be slaughtered.
The message: "Come take what you want, rape and kill us if you please; we are unarmed and defenseless".
“Come take what you want,
rape and kill us if you please;
we are unarmed and defenseless”
That’d make a great sign to invite a criminal home invader in for ‘target practice’, but I wonder if it’d be illegal in some way, to post it?
Have you seen the one that you post in your own yard stating that the neighbors are anti-gun and unarmed, and out of respect for their beliefs you will not use your weapons to defend them?
