Donald Rumsfeld, a key architect of the Iraq war, announced Wednesday that hes supporting Donald Trump, one of its biggest critics.
The former defense secretary in the George W. Bush administration said hes never met Trump, but hes certainly preferable to Hillary clinton.
I dont even find it a hard decision, he said.
Rumsfeld pooh-poohed the candidates accusations that the Bush administration lied to get the country into war.
Im 83 years old, Ive been through a lot of elections, and Ive never found anyone that Ive agreed with 100 percent of the time, Rumsfeld said....

“Ditto. I voted for Cruz in the primaries but will support Trump in the election.”
Same here. Will do the crawling over broken glass thingy.
Hillary is a known known.
“You almost have to want to live in a police state to countenance a Hillary win.”
Some actually say they want the country to go down so that all the people who voted *wrong* will be taught “a lesson”.
They do not understand human psychology one bit. Those in power will all say it is anyone else’s fault, and they will have the media to push it.
We need to win this to hope to save the Republic. We have sunk far, and must claw our way back. With God’s mercy we can do it. I do not think we can do it without God.
This is so great. I believe all patriots must do this. Those who do not should be isolated and politically punished. There will be no political mercy. Trump is so great . His speech today want AWESOME!!
Hillaryous Rotten Criminal ALERT!
1/2 OF THE GREATEST CRIME COUPLE IN THE HISTORY OF THE REPUBLIC.
Known, knowns.
You must be a LOW-INFORMATION VOTER, Rumsfeld. (Thanks for your service to the republic)
I’ve been holding my nose since 1988, Bush I, Dole, Bush II, McAmnesty, Romneycare.
No nose holding for me this time at all.
I was never a fan of Mr. Trump, did not read his books or watch his TV shows, never stayed at any of his hotels.
I was skeptical at first, but I believe he really does want to make America great again.
I’ve stayed at the Trump International in Manhattan.
Great frickin place.
They make stationary and business cards with your name on them for your stay and Jean-Georges is right down stairs.
Love that place.
TAKE BACK AMERICA!

>Trump needs to bring Rumsfeld on as an adviser.
No, No, No.
Brent Scowcroft = Beta Male
Rummy and Cheney need to make a personal stop at Ly’n Ryan’s office before the voters show up with torches and pitchforks.
I watched his interview with Greta and thought he was articulate on why hes supporting Trump. I especially like how he explained the ways in which Trumps positions on NATO were misrepresented by the press. Rumsfeld knows a great deal about NATO and recognizes that Trump is right that our allies need to be paying more and that it needs to be modernized for our new post-Cold War threats (esp. terrorism).
Rummy also said that if a soldier or sailor had done what Cankles has done with her emails, they’d ‘probably be indicted’.
I’ve stayed at Trump Soho a couple of times (someone else’s dime) and it was wonderful. Best mattresses I’ve slept upon, grammar notwithstanding.
Cheers,
Jim
Rumsfeld’s seems to me to be a fairly significant endorsement.
Rather dubious whether his endorsement has any influence on potential voters... but anyway:
Rumsfeld has an abysmal record on foreign policy.
He is part of the Neocon clique responsible of driving the USA into the morass it is now.
Young Rumsfeld during the Ford presidency was instrumental (along with Simon) in isolating and antagonizing the US-allied Shah of Iran and part of the pro-Saudi clique.
Dropping the Shah and selling America out to the Wahhabi Saudi savages was one the cardinal mistakes of US foreign policy... and we all are paying now a very high price for this shift in alliance.
I sincerely hope that Trump will not give Rumsfeld and treacherous “Neocons” any influence or role within his administration.
Purging America’s hall of powers from any Wahhabi/Saudi/Gulf-Arab influence should be top priority.
Same here - still waiting for Cruz to make even a weak endorsement to help stop Hillary - I'm disappointed with him after donating over $500 to his campaign before it became obvious he had no real path to the nomination.
