Why is our collective judgment so fallible on an issue like the death penalty, but so infallible on the subject of global warming/climate change?

If a liberal/Leftist can't answer your question without calling you a racist or a Nazi, everybody wins.
To our friends on the Left, one agrees that communism is in the peoples' interest and those that don't agree are racist Nazis.
Leftist politics isn't any more profound or complicated than that.
