I try to make an important distinction between being ruled and being governed. Prior to Obama, no one in the US thought of ourselves as being ruled.
Slaves and serfs are “ruled”. Free men are “governed”.
When Obama became president, his staff and the media began using the term “rule”. It makes me sick to hear/read it, because it sums up in one powerful punch, how our nation has devolved into tyranny.
You are correct, Jane. This election will determine if we are “ruled” by political tyrants, or “governed” honestly by citizen-elected leaders.
