A senior in my daughter’s class died of Heroin this spring - beautiful gal, dance team, sports, etc. Not sure if it was a one-time thing or not, but yes, the promise she had. I feel for these dads - and it must be frustrating knowing that the drug dealers are still out there.

I used to listen to the nearby city police scanner on the net. Every once in awhile there would be something like “I don’t see the suspect - just the usual dealers down there.” Or - “Yeah, as soon as we drove - by the gang-bangers moved south so the area is clear.”

I guess the cops can’t just go in and arrest people just hanging out on a corner - but it sounds like everybody knows what the deal is.

Heroin users can be highly functioning, going for years without anyone knowing. Still go to work, school, provide for their family.
