I assume any such ban would include a restriction on ammunition sales.

Not that a Ammo ban would matter either. Between the 20 + trillion rounds already in the hands of citizens, and reloaders. . . .and of course, there will IMMEDIATELY be a black market in ammo. .

And (so I've heard) using reloads voids your warranty.

Reloading will eliminate some of this, but the supplies will become scarce so an underground market will arise. And countries like China and Eastern Europe will be all over this. But I think that an underground manufacturing system will become established fast. Personally I’m not someone really into guns, although I am a Vet, but just like drugs, alcohol and other products that the government bans, the smuggling will begin. When the first assault weapons ban happened Eastern Europe flooded the black market with assault weapons into the US. It will happen again

I assume so too. Pity that there are so many out there with stockpiles that will easily outlast them...;’}

There's a whole cargo can full of ammo in the parking lot of my local cop shop.

That is something the feds themselves will supply if needed, there will be plenty lying around if they are that stupid to try it.

5% of the gun owning population in open revolt, not counting a hefty percentage supporting the 5% creates an untenable scenario for the fed goons trying to enforce their “laws”.

Even if you call in the military those that obey the orders to murder their own would be hard pressed to control more than the area they are standing in. When they leave that area they no longer control it. Do you call in drone and airstrikes on your own citizens? How is that going to play out. Sure the state run media would ignore it but the internet would not allow for a blackout of the treachery unless Fed goons shut down the Internet and how does that play out in public opinion, not good.

What happened when a constitutional amendment was passed to outlaw alcohol?
