Surely there is no remedy to this potential danger or the federal government would take necessary precautions to protect us against this threat. After all, isnt that precisely why government exists in the first place, to keep us safe?
The good news is that protective equipment for the civilian grid is available and can be installed in a timely manner. The bad news is that the departments of Homeland Security and Energy have done little so far to protect us against this very real danger.

"....isnt that precisely why government exists in the first place, to keep us safe?" Well, maybe once upon a time. Anymore they want to control every aspect of your life. From cradle to grave. Too bad for them that there are those out here that are of the mind set of "Leave me alone. If I need you I'll call. Otherwise.........." Have any of the can'tidates addressed this issue? Do any of them have a clue what it is? To paraphrase jojo biden, one word, "faraday cage".

Put the threats on an EMP watch list. Problem solved! Right, now lets start a Fluoride thread.
Haven't had one of those in a long time.

Attempting to armor up America against attacks from Islam are futile. In fact, attempting to so do will force us to give up the freedoms that make America the land of liberty it now is.
As Islam is the reason, extirpate Islam.
Do it before they extirpate us.

The government is doing nothing to mitigate the damage from an EMP because that’s the card they’re holding to play against us at the appropriate time. You can bet that every military base and command center, that every under ground bunker that the government built to guarantee COG is hardened against an EMP. When they hit us with one, only the people will suffer the consequences. We’ll be easier to herd that way...

I got it!
Lets ban EMP weapons! If we don’t have them surely our enemies will give them up as well, RIGHT?

Maybe President Trump will make it known to the few nations of the world capable of doing an EMP attack, that any such would result in their nation ceasing to exist within 30 minutes.

I think a Faraday cage may protect against EMP, as long as its a solid sheet of metal...out of tin foil or something like that...

This might be the biggest threat we’re facing. Iranians will attack in a smart fashion and taking down the grid will give them the most bang for the buck.
This is a million times more important than chasing down ‘lone wolves’... The FBI needs to get their heads out of the sand..

get their heads out of the sand...
They are only doing that because sand blocks EMP...
no need for tinfoil just roll your head in glue then
sprinkle with sand.

Yup. Most of the assclowns are used to living in the dark with hardly any essential services so it would be an advantage over pampered folks like most of the U.S. And the lone wolves could play an important part in taking down the grid. Watched ‘London Has Fallen” over the weekend and one of the things the bad guys did was take down the power. Just a guy with a lap top hacking into the power grid.

A successful EMP attack on the nation would be the climax of Sultan Hussein’s project to deconstruct America. Why would his regime do anything to prevent it or to harden the system against it?

Get a metal trash can. Line it with cardboard. Put electronics in. Seal lid well with metal tape leaving no gaps. Do not ground the can.
