So the same scumbags that did Alberta are doing the western states.
A few years ago, wildfires south of Miami were found to have been set by firefighters to get overtime pay.
You know, reading about dog head explosions first thing in the morning is never my idea for getting the day off to a good start.
Well, a little hyperbole gets the folks interested... but seriously I have land about 5 miles from the fire and I hope my garage doesn’t burn!

Well, there were thunderstorms earlier in the week, but the Dog Head fire is still under investigation as to the cause. More than likely, it's some idiot who did something stupid rather than intentionally set.
The thing about the Dog Head fire is that there's nothing to stop it going east. Once it breaks out of the forested land, it gets into a lot of scrub, but there are no breaks. It's on the eastern slope of the Manzano Mountains ESE of Albuquerque, and if it breaks out of the trees and heads down out of the mountains, from there, it's open flat desert full of scrub well into Texas. With the winds we get here, it could carry a long ways east.

Yesterday the major part of the fire passed between Chilili and Escabosa and is to the east of 337 near 217, I’d say you’re good. It was a a mile or two south of me. Very little smoke this AM.
Yup, looks like I’m golden. The last big fire came within a mile or so from my place. When I went up to see if I could do anything it was like looking at hell. Damn scary stuff.

KRQE reports officals say 24 homes and 21 structures have been destroyed.

Not much wind here, but some activity is picking up. Very light smoke south of me.
