Venezuela's super-rich are enjoying lavish parties and gourmet cuisine, while middle-class people are forced to scavenge for food as the Socialist country's economy collapses. In the opulent Caracas Country Club, where membership costs an astonishing £77,000 458 times the average Venezuelan salary glamorous women in cocktail dresses were seen relishing a banquet of beef and lobster, followed by a colourful selection of puddings. Meanwhile, in the Petare slum a few miles away, home to 370,000 Venezuelans, ordinary middle-class people were rummaging in stinking piles of rubbish for rotten cabbage leaves, desiccated limes and scraps of fetid meat.

Some pigs are more equal than others.
“What? I thought Socialism takes from the rich and gives to the poor. At least, thats what Obozo is doing. You mean some of the leaders in Venezuela arent following the script?”
It does. It is taking the garbage of the rich and giving it to the poor.
It doesn’t seem to have eradicated obesity, though.

He steals from the poor
And gives to the rich
Stupid bitch
Moore: What did you sing?
Singers: (speaking) We sang... he steals from the poor and gives to the rich.
Moore: Wait a tic... blimey, this redistribution of wealth is trickier than I thought.
Socialism does change things. “It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” Chaves, Kim Jong-il, Castro, Clinton lack nothing.
The existence of a system of naked aristocratic privilege and court society is not a contradiction of the principles of socialism but their natural outgrowth. It follows directly from socialism's fundamental moral and political premise, which is that the individual does not exist as an end in himself but as means to the ends or "society." Since the ends of society is the ends of the rulers, the individual is the means to the ends of the rulers.
“What? I thought Socialism takes from the rich and gives to the poor.”
That is a common misconception. Socialism takes from the productive and gives it to the party connected.
Too much of this article is lies and nothing but garden fertilizer. The pictures we've seen for a year of them standing in long grocery lines show the same chunky people. They claim they can't afford food but I see they can afford to get their nails done. I see they can afford to buy bread instead of making it at home.
The reporter should be shot for not taking setting that dog free and feeding it. Yeah, I'm positive the reporter and cameraman had food and water on them to feed it.
How much did the reporter pay all those people to dig through the same trash pile?
The farmer has nothing in his fridge but he's got it plugged in and has a satellite dish on the roof and what looks like a huge speaker system in the other room. Makes no sense unless it's false reporting. His family looks healthy enough. I seen less healthy kids right here in the US. You can't tell me the family isn't eating the street food the wife sells. She could stand to lose about 35 lbs so that starvation diet she's on isn't working. He admits to growing corn, beans and yams so, being a farmer, he's bound to have many other crops and enough kids to pull weeds and keep a garden watered and bug free. If they have room on their property for flowers and bare dirt, they aren't starving. Stupid reporter doesn't know how to spell corn FLOUR, not to mention that what's in the pot is masa harina dough for making tortillas.
That picture of an overweight woman in a bikini likely isn't the same as the thin woman. The bikini woman has pale skin while the thin woman has very dark skin. But, awwwww, poor widdle thing's socialist dream is falling apart.
Same with the Mexican elite and the cartel scum. My Mexican tenants had a party for their little daughter's eighth birthday the other evening and they invited us over for beer and cake. After the kids went to bed I had a long discussion with him and several of his friends and cousins about the situation in Mexico. They'd love to take back the country, but are in no better position to do so than the Venezuelans. But they do have somewhere to flee to (here!) where the Venezuelans lack that option. So rebellion there is much more likely than in Mexico.
And the additional problem is that such revolutions frequently end up with communists in control rather than a freedom based leadership.
