I certainly did not get what you said from the article. I got that they were trying to position Cruz as some new (defeated) party leader.

The problem is nobody in any position of power follows him. He had ONE semi-supporter in the Senate. He couldn’t get ONE GOP senator to attend his climate change hearings. That is pathetic.

So are they coming to Cruz and offering him all the wealth in the world to be their leader?

Or is he coming to them to try to salvage his career?

Are they already talking about running him for president again?

Or is it more about what will become of what's left of movement conservatism?

I don't know.

I can see now that whoever wrote the article is trying to make it all about a future Cruz run for president, but really, these guys have enough on their plate right now without worrying about that.

Cruz may not even have a Senate seat or a career by 2020. He's got plenty of chicks to hatch before he can start counting them.
