Almost the entire coastline of NC up to just south of the VA line, further inland as you go south. Good rule of thumb, if there are palmetto trees growing wild, they’re definitely around, and if a palm tree can even survive as a landscape ornamental, you can probably find a few.

Thanks! I didn’t know that. We have relatives in Florida and have visited there since 1982, but the first time that I saw an alligator was during our last visit two years ago. It was on a golf course and appreared to be five to six feet long. What an amazing looking animal.
