So you would prefer women lose the right to vote than ending the draft all together. Because as a mother of a daughter and 2 sons I would vote to end the draft, unless of course you wouldnt let me. Do you think the women in China might would like the right to vote NOT to have to kill their babies after theyve had more than the men who run China think they should have? Or maybe thats your angle. Just take away womens right to vote so you dont have to pay for those little brats you had with that first wife you married. You want to have all the fun and none of the responsibility. Youre a dime a dozen. And as obvious as the sun.
This thread is a solid case of why I defend and respect only the women close to me, like my wife, child, family, and close friends, but feel no obligation to defend all women as a whole.
Too many women want all the benefits men get, and none of the responsibilities, and use men's good will against them. I'm not a sucker.

Who asks you to defend women as a whole? Think pretty big of yourself, don’t you?
Happily, I have a man who knows how to respect women even in abstract terms with complete strangers. Plus, I was raised by a real man not a wolf. Pity your wife - if you really have one.

You are, by demanding I be against women being drafted. Why should I?

My wife is a wonderful woman and we have a very happy marriage. But please, continue with the personal attacks.

Don’t let them get to you.
Women should have to register at 18 years of age.
“An army marches on its stomach.”
So there would be plenty of noncombat work for women. Cooking, cleaning, etc.

And just so you all know how I think about a few of these things let me just say:
Yes, I think if a man who makes a baby with a woman does not pay child support, he should have “SOME” of his wages garnished. I don’t think he should be thrown jail if he’s working. It’s stupid and counter productive. How is he going to pay if he loses his job because he’s sitting in jail? If he’s not working or refuses to work, only then would I consider incarceration. Mississippi does not have county prisoners sitting in jail. They are out working. But the same applies to mothers where the fathers are raising them. I know someone who lost her kid to her ex and she had to pay him child support. Oh well, he was the better parent and she made more money. Justice served.
I’m a nurse. ( unable to work right now for health reasons) Historically a role held by women. It was proven that when men started becoming nurses they started making more money than women simply because they were men. That is bull crap. Most men I’ve worked with as nurses do just fine with the clinical and suck at the compassionate part. Men are by nature not nurturers.
I don’t believe in firefighters. I believe in fireMEN. I may make some women mad with this comment but this is why. You don’t want my 5’3 self dragging you out of a burning house cause, we ain’t making it. Me and you both will probably die. And I don’t want a woman trying to drag me out either. Well let me say this, if your my neighbor and you want to try, please try. I’m just saying, I would prefer a 6’3 250lb man dragging my family out of a burning house.
Some roles are meant for men and some for women. I’m sorry if that hurts some people’s feelings. I’m sorry if that makes it hard for you to “identify” your gender or gender role.
But, if me and a man are doing the same job, such as nursing, you should not get paid more just because you have a penis. If we’re both an office administrator, I shouldn’t get paid more because I have ovaries.
Clear enough?
And I don’t like the draft for men or women. Unless something like Red Dawn starts happening. And then we won’t need a draft, we will all be picking up guns wanting to fight anyway.

If that is what poses for wit in your world, I’ll send you a book of Oscar Wilde epigrams.

I don’t understand it at all, but then, I like strong men. I think that American men are the best in the world.

McCain has done much damage to our country. I’m glad that you’ve donated to his opposition.

I think American men are great - my husband, father, brother and nephew being prime examples. All my men friends. But these guys here today? Not so much!

If you are familiar, you need to start emulating those works. So far, you’re on the par with the Smothers Brothers.

My father was a mensch. He was career Navy and taught me so much. My husband asked his permission before he proposed to me. That’s what a real man does, imho.
