Here we are with the math again. If you divide the population into 54% W and 46% nonW, then divide each of these groups into 44% M and 56% F, then we have .44 X .54 = 23.76% PWO .
If we stipulate 22% PWO, then we must have ~ 40.74% M among the 54% W population. And then .22 + nonWM = .22 + p X .46 = .44, p = .22 /.46 = ~ 47.82% M among the 46% nonW population.
... so I don’t know how you arrived at that.
Aha! but I do ! You took half of the 44% M population and assigned them to the W popluation, notwithstanding that the W and nonW populations were not evenly divided.
At any rate, a range of answers are possible to the question of what fraction of the population are PWO.
