That is a PCC car. Note that because of its great length, there are doors at the front, middle and rear of the car. These were two-man cars, with a conductor at the rear collecting fares, leaving the motorman to his work up front.

This type of car ended up going into the shop in 1959 and coming out as an el car.

Remember getting on at the rear and paying the fare, but did not realize they were converted to El cars.......
