Other scenarios are far more likely than a USN shoot-down and cover-up.

Like a spontanious center fuel tank explosion?

If the navy didn't shoot the missile, they know who did. They were all over that area that night.

The whole thing is bizarre. 747s don't just explode. The Navy isn't butterfingers about missiles. Hundreds of witnesses didn't hallucinate. The CIA doesn't investigate plane crashes.

If it was a movie script it wouldn't be accepted. The whole thing is ridiculous.

And I have no idea what really happened. But I believe the Navy does.

And I share your confusion. And your supposition...though I doubt the Navy was responsible. But they are likely to know more about it than, say, the CIA.....

The most interesting thing about TW800 is that both George Stpehanapoulos and John Kerry have referred to the event on national TV as a "bombing".

Stephanopoulos' mention was obviously innadvertent (it was on 9/11), but I got the impression Kerry's mention (early in the 2004 Dem primaries) was intentional.
