When the threads were so heated here Cruzbots against Trump supporters I decided to come out of Lurking. Heavens to Betsy what a time to decide. LOL It was quite scary to throw ideas out for fear of getting eaten alive. I chose cautiously on what threads to be on and who to make a comment to. After a while I would follow “Thor” (JaneLong) because she was my hero. She had the guts to say what she thought and had the knowledge to back up her remarks. So at times I hid behind the false appearance of my name NIKK. The name was chosen several years ago after my son. Sorry if I’ve bored you.
Aren’t you sweet?!!
Thanks for the kind words.
I’m just thankful (as I am SURE we ALL are) that you came out of lurk mode to grace us with your comments/info/apprisal and, of course, our monikers :)
Yours truly,
Thor

And I’m glad you did! Yes, even for someone used to posting here and the occasional nastiness, it was a crazy intense time. I’m SO grateful for the Trump Family threads and for nikos for providing a safe place for us.
Jane is my hero too ;)
My screenname came from my fav cat - Cotton. My nickname for her when she was all curled up and soft and white was Cottonball. I had her, and her sister Cashmere, and brother Corduroy. Cashmere recently passed away (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3409103/posts), but the other two are doing well. Cotton is my favorite (although I miss Cashmere every day - how do cats ingrain themselves into our hearts - dogs too!). Anyway, Cotton is TOO smart and devious as well. She knows when we were leaving for the cabin and she had to go for a 2 hour drive. She would hide in the most ingenious places, changing them each time. Once, I found her - after a half-hour search - behind the VCR in a TV stand. If I hadn’t seen the little white fluff of her tail tip, I never would’ve found her. The others would hide, but Cashmere was always under the same chair each time and Roy just hid in plain sight. Cotton also knows tricks - she has trained me to give her treats on command, actually. I’ve woken up many a night with her doing ‘touch my nose’. And I had to quit teaching her to speak because she did it ALL the time after that. Cats don’t wait for cues, apparently, like dogs do.
I also thought it was a somewhat feminine name but maybe not - a few here thought I was a guy. Now, Qtip - that would be masculine....
