She was a mail order Islamic bride from one of the ‘Stans, and as we’ve seen on TV, she wears her hair down.
My guess is that the killer expected a devout fanatic like Mrs. San Bernardino. When she failed to be the devout Muslima that he expected, he thought he could apply the good old Islamic discipline and beat her into shape.
What is so hard to understand about that?
The killer’s wife is said to be from Uzbekistan. I was deployed there; Uzbek women whom I met were not very religious & regarded Islam as little more than a veneer.
The fanatical Muslims, they told me, were “those people from the south”, meaning Afghans.
