Not on your life are the weak-kneed, lily-livered members of Congress capable of taking this action, especially at this junction so late in Obama’s reign. Heck they can’t even block his EOs through the use of the power of the purse.
Along with electing Trump we need to purge Congress of these people who serve for their own enrichment instead of the well-being of the people they were elected to serve.
Term limits. The idea that the people should be served by the same legislator for a lifetime if they so desire is faulty and leads only to corruption. It is in effect another way of having “Royalty.” The Founders are spinning in their graves with a Senate/Congress populated by people with a lifetime elected seat of 20/30/40 years in length.
Turn ‘em over quick says I. Get the money out of government service including the “Staffer” class. Restrict the perks including lifetime health benefits, pensions, etc. Let them pay into Social security/401s/IRAs Pay for their own health care, etc.....
There are many people who would be willing to serve a term or two then go home to their “real” job. Lets “fire” the political class and start electing the “patriot” class.
Lets have more Donald’s and less Barack’s.
