Why would he deliberately defy the police if he understood they wanted him to follow instructions?
Almost certainly the shine flashlights in his eyes, shouted confusing, contractor and generally incoherent instructions and while he’s thinking “What?” they murder him in his home in cold blood.

Why should yelling “POLICE!” shift the burden from the cops to the homeowner? Have there been some studies that I missed showing that home invaders and other crooks are unable to yell that?
