You’re right: Tennessee.
Ok, I carry a gun for a living so bear with me and I’ll give my view: call comes in: “fighting and gun shots” with no address, just an “area.” It’s night. It’s not your neighborhood. You race to the location with no more information than above. You get to the general area and step out of the car with lights flashing and your flash light on...
Show of hands: who’s been there?
Personally, I have a simple system at night with this scenario: Everyone in a 500 yard area knows I’m there because I tell them. Loud. You draw, I draw. You point, I point. Otherwise, we cool.
I’ve never killed a dog or a human. I carry dog treats in the car. I think the 2nd Amendment is the greatest thing God gave us. I love armed homeowners.
I know that it seems like these guys were careless - and they may have been - but I reserve some judgement. If you think that officer went home excited that he shot an innocent man then I encourage you to talk to more officers, please. It’s not fun out in the dark and humans make terrible mistakes, but that guy will pay a price no matter what happened.
