You are correct. Only Israel can commit suicide itself. The Bible foretells that a group of liberal leaders will take over Israel and commit national suicide. But God will save a remnant in the end and delivery Israel...

have always had at least their share of TRAITORS or enemy agents “moled in” to seats of power
