I would still put Jack’s 4th round at the 86 Masters as one of the greatest days in Sports ever.

I think of Gordie Howe as the Hank Aaron of hockey ... amazing career numbers, but a career with a few strange statistical anomalies.
For example ... it's amazing that a guy like Howe could score 801 goals in his career, yet he never scored 50 in a single season.
Truly a legend of the game, though. He will be missed, and mourned across Canada much like Maurice Richard was a few years ago.

The guy you're overlooking is Nicklas Lidstrom. He was only 42 when he retired, but he was still a dominant player even at that age ... and won his last Norris Trophy at the age of 41.
There's no doubt in my mind that he could have played at least as long as Chelios if he wanted to.

RIP, Gordie, and our prayers are with your loved ones. I was a die-hard Bruins fan but always respected your play when you came to town.

San Jose kicked the asses of all of my favorite teams out here this season. They deserve to be where they are. But the Penguins... Wow. They are incredible.

Lidstrom was a beast. The Wings became nothing without him.

Thanks for the ping. Sad for his family. He was one of the greats, no doubt about it.
And for people pushing Pete Rose? No. He betrayed the sport, while he was still on the payroll.

Well I looked it up for you. Condition is absolutely critical in these things for pricing. A low grade one appears to be available for less than a $100. A higher grade one anywhere from $500 to $1000 or more.

RIP, Gordie.
I had the privilege of meeting him at his restaurant in Hartford back in the late 70s/early 80s.

The beautiful thing about being a muslim male is that you get to break all of the rules you would otherwise impose on others. Wow, no wonder so many lib pols are so pro-Muslim, even though in many ways, mainstream Islam is a very "conservative" religion.
