“A friend from Terlingua came up to visit and attened the NRA convention in Louisville recently. She brought me four books by Elizabeth A. Garcia who also lives in Terlingua. The series is the Deputy Ricos Tale and they are quite good. The setting is the desert of Terlingua on the Rio Grande.”

I spent some time in Terlinqua while visiting and exploring the Big Bend country. Same general part of the country where Scalia died.

The main character talks of Big Bend country. I’m hooked on these books. They are very different than anything I’ve read in the past because of the setting. The description of the Rio Grande in places really surprises me. I wasn’t seeing it in my mind as having places one could jump across on rocks and not even get wet.
