I never cooked before I was married. Well, very little actually. I remember one day while my husband was at work on base (Air Force) I baked a lemon pie. I forgot to bake the crust before putting the lemon filling inside. I threw it in the trash and he found it. LOL I was so embarrassed. I read my Betty Crocker book before cooking after that. In fact I got it out yesterday when I made the peach cobbler. The binding is falling apart but that’s to be expected for a 49 year old well used cook book.
I have my mothers. In same condition. Actually found a brand new looking one at a flea market. I have three shows of cook books. A family tradition. Wha. Dad had a GN tube and couldn’t eat. He read cook books. Doctor was impressed that he ate so much so quickly after it was removed
Dr suggested it was my cooking. I blamed it all on his selections from the cookbooks!
