To a certain extent, NICS is already a form of “gun registration.” And gun confiscation already exists when mere allegations of “domestic violence” are uttered.
An NCIS background check is useless as gun registration without a law requiring the owner to report sale or disposition of the firearm noted in the original check.
“Produce that AR-15 which you bought on October 12, 2013.”
“I sold it months ago.”
“You have the right to remain silent, you are under arrest.”
The law hasn’t arrived at that point yet. Takes action by Congress, as noted. Congress isn’t that stupid. Bammy would love to use his E.O. pen but that doesn’t work.
“As commander in chief I hereby order all citizens to turn in their guns or face immediate arrest & prosecution.”
Try enforcing it, Barky.
Now....you do have a point about certain @zzhole states which require surrender of guns by anyone with a domestic abuse TRO on his head. But that’s a state & local matter, for now.
