Zurich is the 2nd most expensive city in the world and Geneva is the 4th most expensive. If people are having trouble stretching a dollar, Switzerland is not the place they should live.
For anyone who has never been to Switzerland....it has two extremes at work.
First, cites, towns and villages are maintained and in presentable order. You don’t find ghetto-like streets or house-trailer parks. But to reach that plateau, you have to spend a fair amount of state-money (tax revenue). Everyone can be proud of their landscape, their city, and their life.
Second, the general cost of living is such....that you really can’t sit around or depend on the state welfare system to carry you unless you are willing to live at the absolute bottom of society.
People live in a Disney-land-like setting, but they are paying for it daily.
