This weekend the Swiss population was called upon to make a historic decision, when Switzerland became the first country worldwide to put the idea of free money for everyone, technically known as Unconditional Basic Income (of CHF2,500 per month for every adult man and woman, and CHF625 for every child, for doing absolutely nothing) to a vote.
As reported previously, the outcome of this referendum would set a strong precedent and establish a landmark in the evolution of the debate of handing out free money in a centrally-planned world. And as predicted, based on early vote projections it has been a landslide decision against the "free lunch."
The vote would be much closer here..
Somebody has to actually make stuff that everyone wants for free.

My how things change. It wasn’t too long ago that a post from an alleged “crackpot” site like ZeroHedge would get zotted by Jim. Now John is posting them. Outstanding.

For weeks, I read through the discussion on this Swiss vote and the minimum wage angle to the talk. The problem is....no one from the ‘yes’ side ever noted how much all this would add up to.
You could have run a one-man coffee pub on the street and paid yourself ten-Euro an hour....making it up to around 1,600 a month (160 hour month assuming). So because you didn’t make the minimum of roughly $2,500 a month....the gov’t would cut a check and pay out $900 more out of their own pocket.
How many people would have been affected? Unknown....no one ever did real analysis over who’d get a free check from the gov’t.
Based on reporting....roughly 25-percent of the country voted for this...75-percent against it.
The thing which would have bothered me is that you could have 10,000 people in your district that you were paying the extra money to, and you couldn’t go and task them to sweep streets, mow grass, or anything. They were to get this money free of charge. It would have destroyed the economy in five years....breaking the country up.
But that is the world we live in today. The world is being driven into utter madness by the elite and as a result creating a completely FUBAR reality where up is down and black is white.
I agree completely. Just suggesting that it’s great that he’s finally jumped aboard the “crackpot” train.
To the leftist - always ratcheting, always termiting - that this even came to a vote represents a victory. They’ll keep at it, unrelentingly chewing at the pillars of society until the whole structure falls.

Actually it doesn’t. It says he’s the owner of the software that runs the place. Nevertheless, Zero Hedge is a great source of information.

Have you perhaps confused ZeroHedge with some other site? If I’m not mistaken, their articles are frequently posted here and have been for years.
Everyone knows that wouldn’t be the end of it. Guarantee right off it wouldn’t be “enough”.
Perhaps it was the people posting the articles rather than the source. Still, the subject matter that is allowed now is much wider.
