Just below the end of the story, it says 'View Comments (167)' in blue text. Click on that and you'll see the comments.
The comments button didn’t show up on my android but did show up on the laptop which is operating off of the android’s hot spot. (?)
In the comments there is no support for the artist. That ought to tell AFP/AP something about their audience.
