Using wasp spray on a human is an off label use in violation of EPA regulations. IE: its a poison( neuro toxin). Using it as an improvised weapon while somewhat effective opens you up legally to lawsuits.

Have a plan and think it through as in being able to articulate to LE as to why you used it as you did. I would think a paper bag with a receipt showing you bought it recently would help you. This is presupposing you hung around after using it. Just saying. Also wasp spray is not as effective as pepper spray. Bear spray is a better alternative than wasp spray

If close enough, one could hurl the contents of a box of ground black pepper (or cayenne).

Or one could put Tobasco or generic equivalent in a squirt gun.

There could be some fun. Food fights from the spice aisle?
