I saw Doctor Zhivago when it premiered. That scene where the local Bolsheviks seize the Gromyko house made me a permanent anti-communist. Give power-hungry people with little minds that kind of authority, and you have...something similar happening right here in the U.S.A.
The theme was that if you are not interested in revolution, it is interested in you. Zhivago & his wife were living quietly in a cottage near the Varykino house and the Bolshies still wouldn’t leave him alone.
Russians speaking with British accents creeped me out, too.
It’s one of those movies that everybody must see. I rate it as the greatest movie ever made.
